Mr Green

Mr Green Wellington · Relaunch

Mr Green Wellington is relaunching.

Two kinds of opportunity are open right now, and where you start depends on where you're at.

For experienced hands

Two roles are open for experienced hands, and both pay you for what you know, not for hours of scrubbing. Have a look at each one below and apply to whichever fits, or both.

1

Role

Quoting & Pricing

Visit sites, price the job, get paid for your eye.

You know what a clean actually takes. Most people who haven't done the work don't, and that's exactly the eye we want on our side.

We give you the software and a simple rate card. You visit the site, walk it properly, and set the price. No guessing, no second-guessing yourself once you've done a few.

It suits someone semi-retired or still working who wants a few flexible, well-paid hours passing on what they know. Mostly daytime. No nights, no heavy lifting, no chasing clients for payment.

This is contractor work, paid per visit, not an employee role.

What it pays
A fee of [TO FILL: site visit rate] per site visit
A bonus every time a site you quote signs on
What you'll need
Real commercial cleaning experience
A good sense of how long a job actually takes
Your own transport
A friendly, professional manner - you'll wear a Mr Green shirt and represent us on site
2

Role

Trainer & Onboarding

Show new cleaners the ropes, so every job goes out done right.

Every new cleaner who joins Mr Green gets a short, paid handover on their first jobs. We want someone experienced enough to run that handover properly, kindly, and without cutting corners.

As things grow, this role extends further: helping new franchisees learn the craft as they come on board, not just new cleaners. Same idea, bigger picture.

It suits the same kind of person as the quoting role, someone semi-retired or still working who wants flexible, well-paid hours built around passing on real experience.

This is contractor work, paid per session, not an employee role.

What it pays
A training rate of [TO FILL: training rate] per session
What you'll need
Real commercial cleaning experience
The patience to train someone kindly
Your own transport
A friendly, professional manner - you'll wear a Mr Green shirt and represent us on site

Just getting started

We bring the clients, you earn from day one. There's one role open here. A path towards buying into the business further down the track exists too, but that's a conversation for later, not something we're asking of you today.

3

Role

Cleaning Contractor

We bring the clients, you bring the work ethic.

We're after reliable cleaners across Wellington CBD and Lower Hutt who already know how to run a good clean and want steady work without having to chase clients themselves.

You bring your own gear and a customer-first approach. You show up when you say you will, and you don't need hand-holding to get the job done properly. We bring the sites.

This is independent contractor work, not employment. You're paid a flat hourly contractor rate, [TO FILL: hourly rate], for the work we send your way, and there's real potential for more hours as we bring on more sites across the region.

What you'll need
Real cleaning experience
Your own gear
A customer-first approach
Reliability - we shouldn't have to chase you

Before you apply

A few honest answers before you apply

Is this a real role, or a franchise pitch?

A real, paid role. Full stop. Franchise ownership is something that can follow down the track for people who want it, but it isn't the ask today and it's never guaranteed. What's on this page is genuine work, paid properly, starting now.

What's the pay actually like?

It depends on the role, see the figures above. Every role here is paid as contractor work: a fee, a session rate, or an hourly rate depending on what you're doing. We don't promise a set income regardless of hours or performance, because that wouldn't be honest. The roles above are real and priced fairly for the work involved.

Is this employment?

No. Every role on this page is an independent contractor arrangement, not an employee position. You'll work under a standard contractor agreement, and you're responsible for your own tax as a contractor. We'll walk you through exactly what that means before you commit to anything.

What happens after I apply?

Someone will actually get back to you. We'll talk through your experience, your area, and what fits, then arrange a proper next step from there.

All roles on this page are independent contractor arrangements, not employment. Pay is contractor-based (a fee, a session rate, or an hourly rate depending on the role) and isn't guaranteed regardless of hours worked or performance. Any pathway towards buying into the business described on this page is a gradual option some contractors choose over time, never a requirement and never guaranteed. Mr Green Wellington welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and does not discriminate in recruitment.
